Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ) is a private, four-year Catholic institution, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, offering master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees. Located blocks from Lake Michigan and minutes from downtown Chicago, we offer a vibrant and stimulating learning environment while remaining affordable and accessible to all students. ATHLETICS HISTORY

 

 

  • 1999 - Crimson Wave Athletics is founded
  • Nov. 1, 1999 - Andy Juscik hired as the first Athletic Director and Women's Basketball Coach
  • April 2000 - Nate Pomeday hired as Crimson Wave staff member and Men's Basketball Coach
  • Nov. 1, 2000 - First Crimson Wave basketball game. The game was held in Elgin, IL against Judson University (College)
  • 2000-2001- Roslyn Turner receives the department's first NAIA National Player of the Week Award
  • 2001-2002 - Inaugural season for baseball and softball

  • 2002-2003 - Inaugural season for men's and women's volleyball

  • 2002-2003 - Keenan Browder named NAIA All-American Second Team

  • 2003-2004 - Inaugural season for women's soccer

  • 2003-2004 - Rochelle Huber becomes the department first CCAC Freshman of the Year in women's basketball

  • 2005-2006 - Inaugural season for men's and women's cross country and golf

  • 2005-2006 - Mallory Williams named CCAC Freshman of the Year and becomes the first national qualifier in women's cross country

  • 2006-2007 - Inaugural season for tennis, track and field, and bowling

  • Feb. 17, 2007 - Men's Basketball wins school's first CCAC regular-season championship

  • 2006-2007 - Gary Hayes was named CCAC Coach of the Year the first for men's basketball and Department.

  • April 2007 - Men's Bowling qualifies for first USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships in the inaugural season
  • Nov. 2007 - Men's Volleyball program closed

  • 2007-2008 - Wilfredo Escobar becomes men's basketball's first CCAC Freshman of the Year

  • April 15, 2008 - Men's Bowling returns and Women's Bowling qualifies for their first USBC Intercollegiate Team Championship

  • 2009-2010 - Inaugural season for competitive dance and wrestling

    2016-2017 - Men's Basketball claims first CCAC South Division Championship and earns school's first bid to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship

    March 9, 2017 - Men's Basketball plays first National Championship game against Bethel (Ind.) in Point Lookout, Mo.
