Jeau Vinatieri, Sprint Football

In the week of Monday, October 7, Calumet College of St. Joseph Sprint Football kicker Jeau Vinatieri was recognized as the Crimson Wave Athlete of the Week.

Vinatieri earned Midwest Sprint Football League’s Special Teams Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, October 8. In the Week 4 come from behind 24-18 overtime win against Bellarmine on Saturday, October 5, Vinatieri went 1-of-1 on field goals and went 1-of-2 on PAT’s. 

Vinatieri’s one field goal happened to be the go-ahead 42-yard game typing field goal with less than one minute to go in regulation against an undefeated Bellarmine team. That kick tied the game at 18 and ultimately sent it to overtime. Vinatieri also punted the ball six times, for an average of 31.3 yards.
