HOW IT HAPPENED
For the Crimson Wave men, only two individuals placed in the top 50, which put them in less than ideal position going into the baker rounds on Saturday. Robert Borowski (SO/Lexington, Ky.) led the way with a 25th place finish on an average of 218.2. Teammate Tyler James (SR/Deltona, Fla.) was the next closest, finishing with a 206 average, good for 45th. When it came to the overall team placing, the Wave finished 401 pins back of winner McKendree, settling for 12th place overall.
The Lady Wave also saw their own struggles throughout the weekend in Wisconsin. No bowler placed in the top 50, and only two finished within the top 100. Lindsey Norton put together the best six game span for CCSJ, finishing in 51st with a 173.67 average. The other competitor under the century mark was Samantha Johnson, who rolled her way to a 66th place finish with an average of 166. The average results transferred to the team game as well. Cal College came in 15th place with 8,038 pins, almost 900 back from eventual winner Lindenwood University.
WHAT'S ON DECK?
The men's team will be back in action in two weeks when they head to Indianapolis for the first of two times this season to participate at the Western Shootout on Oct 20-21. As for the women, they won't see the lanes in competitive play until next month, where they will play in the Falcon Classic on November 17th at Interstate Lanes in Rossford, Ohio.
