Crimson Wave Baseball ends regular season with a win and tie at Judson, securing CCAC tourney spot

Elgin, IL - The Calumet College Baseball team's final series of the regular season started with a single home game against Judson. The Crimson Wave had a tough game one, starting off with a 5-0 lead, but losing in 9 innings 10-6. CCSJ battled back in game two, winning 5-4 in 7-innings. In the final game of the series, the Wave tied the Eagles, 9-9 in 9 innings. With the game two win, the Crimson Wave secured their 2nd ever spot in the CCAC Baseball Tournament.

Notables:

  • Andrew Davenport got the win, pitching 7 innings with 2 strikeouts, allowing 5 hits and 4 earned runs. Davenport was also 2-2 at the plate with a double and an RBI

  • Josef Selby, Little, and Ryan Kalinowski all had a double in game two

Game Three: CCSJ 9, Judson 9 (TIE)

Notables:

  • Zack Zborowski got the start on the mound, throwing for 3 innings, striking out 1, allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs

  • Maxwell Everaert went to the mound in the 4th inning and pitched 4 innings, striking out 7 batters, allowing 8 hits and 4 earned runs

  • Machnic was 2-5 with an RBI

  • Davenport was 2-3 with a double and an RBI

  • Gabriel Quinones was 2-4 with a double

  • Sean Moore hit a 2 run home run in the 6th inning

  • Xavier Sanchez was 2-3 on the day with 3 RBIs and hit a 2 run home run in the 7th inning

The Crimson Wave finished the regular season 17-30-1, the most regular season wins in program history and breaking last year's 16-win record. The Crimson Wave finished CCAC play 9-17-1, making the CCAC tournament for the 2nd time in program history.
