Seven Crimson Wave sprint football players earn 2023 CSFL Hub All-Conference honors
Players Nino Barbosa, Trevor Busse, Quindarius Davis, Elijah Antis, Alexander Dellaechaie and Bronson Charles were named to the Collegiate Sprint Football League Hub National team while both Charles and Jacob Oehmen were named to the CSFL Hub All-Freshmen team.
Whiting, IN. – Calumet College of St. Joseph has seven representatives on the 2023 Collegiate Sprint Football League Hub All-Conference teams. The CSFL Hub National teams and all-freshman team are chosen by the CSFL Hub staff. The players selected are recognized as the best players amongst the two sprint football leagues in the country, the Midwest Sprint Football League (MSFL) and the CSFL.
Sophomores Nino Barbosa, Trevor Busse and Quindarius Davis earned first-team honors while sophomores Elijah Antis and Alexander Dellaechaie earned second-team honors.
Nino Barbosa threw for 401 passing yards and five touchdowns in his four starts at quarterback this past season. From the quarterback slot, Barbosa also rushed for 229 yards and five touchdowns. Linebacker Trevor Busse led the team this year with 66 total tackles, 13 of which were tackles for a loss. Not only did he have the second-most tackles in all the MSFL, but Busse also had 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and one interception.
Defensive back Quindarius Davis led the MSFL and CSFL with eight interceptions on the season. Davis also recorded 29 tackles this past season. Running back Elijah Antis led CCSJ with 412 rushing yards and four touchdowns. His stellar season ranked him sixth amongst both leagues for the most rushing yards in 2023.
Linebacker Alexander Dellaechaie had the second-most tackles for any CCSJ player this past season with 44. Dellaechaie recorded four sacks for 37 yards, while averaging 5.5 tackles per game. His accumulated 15 tackles for a loss of 60 yards, ranking him fifth amongst the MSFL for tackles for loss this year.
Bronson Charles received third-team recognition while both Charles and Jacob Oehman were representatives on the all-freshmen team.
Offensive tackle Charles played in three games this season and helped pave the way for the CCSJ rushing attack. Wide receiver Oehman had 22 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns in his eight games played. The freshman also had five solo tackles and two fumble recoveries.
