Crimson Wave defeated by Jaguars, 93-61
The Crimson Wave (2-4) traveled to face Governors State (4-2) on Saturday, a game that is always hard fought for CCSJ. The Crimson Wave started off strong against the Jaguars but weren't able to stay ahead of Governors State, losing 61-93.
In the 1st half, the Crimson Wave were the first to score and stayed ahead of the Jaguars until 7 minutes till the second half when Governors State took their lead that would put them ahead of CCSJ for the rest of the game. Governors State lead the Crimson Wave at the half, 45-31, but CCSJ was not going to stay behind easily. The Crimson Wave started the 2nd half by holding the Jaguars to only scoring a few points, but CCSJ was unable to catch up enough to decrease Governors State's lead. The Jaguars took off in the 2nd half, scoring 48 points, and held CCSJ to only 30 points, securing their win of 93-61.
The Crimson Wave shot 39% in Total Field Goals, 31.6% from the 3-point line, and 55.6% from the free-throw line. Josh Alcindor led CCSJ scoring 18 points and 4 assists, Malik Miller and Noel Mpie each had 6 rebounds.
The Crimson Wave Men's Basketball team returns to action on Tuesday, November 23rd to host St. Ambrose University.
