Saturday, the Crimson Wave host Governors State for their 2nd game of the week and 2022. Coming off of a close game loss against Lincoln College, CCSJ was hungry and came out of the gate strong against the Jaguars.
The Crimson Wave led Governors State 48-37 at the half after some huge efforts by Malik Miller and Noel Mpie, but the Jaguars started the 2nd half with a tight defense on CCSJ that gave them an opportunity to pull ahead. The Crimson Wave didn't go silently, regaining a small lead over Governors State, but in the final minutes, with several missed shots by CCSJ, Governors State took their opportunity and tied the game in the final 30 seconds to lead to overtime at 76-76. The Jaguars scored first and the Crimson Wave couldn't catch up until the final seconds when Oshawn Lee made two back-to-back layups that brought the score to 85-81.
