Crimson Wave defeated by Purdue Northwest, 85-58

GARY, Ind. – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's basketball team lost to Purdue Northwest 85-58 on Thursday, November 30 at the PNW Fitness & Recreation Center. The Crimson Wave (2-6, 0-2 CCAC) trailed by as many as 28 points in the loss.

How it Happened

CCSJ struggled in the first half, finding themselves in an 11-point deficit five minutes into the contest. The Purdue Northwest lead would extend to 24 later in the first half as Calumet College offense couldn't keep up shooting 11-of-34 from the field and 1-of-11 from behind the arc.

Trailing by as many as 28 in the second half, the Crimson Wave managed to put together an 11-0 run lead by Joshua Morris who nailed a 3-pointer, followed by three consecutive mid-range jump shots from Quindarius Davis. Cutting the lead down to 17 was the closest CCSJ could come in the second half as the Pride cruised to a 27-point win.

In total, Calumet College shot 34 percent (24-of-71) from the field and 20 percent (5-of-25) from 3-point range. CCSJ made five of its seven free throw attempts and scored 32 points in the paint along with 16 fast break points. 

Crimson Wave Leaders

Joshua Morris led CCSJ with 14 points, four rebounds and two blocks while Quindarius Davis had 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Hrvoje Majcunic chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds as well.
