Floyd and Quindarius Davis lead surging Crimson Wave past Trinity Christian 94-87 for their 5th victory in 6 games

Whiting, IN – The CCSJ men's basketball team scored 61 points in the second half to beat Collegiate Chicago Athletic Conference opponent Trinity Christian 94-87 on Wednesday, February 14 at the Rittenmeyer Center. As Floyd Davis and Quindarius Davis combined for 46 points, the Wave picked up their fifth win in six games.

How it Happened

In the opening five minutes, Calumet College (9-15, CCAC 7-10) was in an early deficit trailing 15-5. Trinity Christian extended its lead to as much as 14 before CCSJ closed the first half on an 8-2 run to the cut the lead down to eight.

In the second half, the Crimson Wave outscored the Trolls 19 to 11 within the first eight minutes to tie the game at 52. Floyd Davis would make a layup at the 11:35 mark to give Calumet College its first lead since the opening minute of the game.

From that point, CCSJ wouldn't relinquish the lead again. Calumet College's lead grew to as much as nine in the second half after Quindarius Davis knocked down a spot up 3-pointer. The Wave shot 67 percent in the second half and four players scored at least 13 points.

For the game, the Crimson Wave shot 36-of-66 (55 percent) from the field. CCSJ outrebounded Trinity Christian 43 to 36 in the win and dished out seven more assists than the Trolls. Calumet College's bench outscored Trinity Christian 33 to eight and as a unit, scored 50 points in the paint.

Floyd Davis had 23 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and three steals while Quindarius Davis had 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Colby Wiggins added 18 points and four steals while Devan Nichols added 13 points and five rebounds.
