Mrak Selected As Director of Soccer Operations
WHITING, Ind. – Calumet College of St. Joseph has a new men's and women's soccer coach. Athletic Director Rick Torres has announced that Mis' Mrak will be joining the Crimson Wave Athletic Department staff as Director of Soccer Operations, a title that will also see him at the helm of both the men's and women's soccer programs.
Mrak comes to CCSJ from Holy Cross College, where he served as the head women's coach for two years. While at HCC, Mrak was responsible for all aspects of the women's soccer program, including recruiting and training. He also held the position of Head Men's Soccer Coach at Valparaiso University for 15 years. During his tenure at Valpo, Mrak was named Mid-Continent Conference coach of the year on three separate occasions, leading the Crusaders to two conference titles and NCAA tournament berth.
A graduate of the Metropolitan State College of Denver, Mrak holds a national "A" license, a national youth license, and a national goalkeeper license with the United States Soccer Federation. He also has served as the Technical Director of Youth Programs at the Junior Irish Soccer Club, and as the Technical Director of the Academy for Three Lions United FC.
"I feel like we are very fortunate to have someone of the caliber of Mis'. He brings a presence and wealth of success in the college ranks, and he is someone who is committed to being here while establishing a foundation of success for years to come," said Torres. "He's well respected across the area and state. Things won't happen overnight, but given time I believe he will lead both Crimson Wave teams to be a force to be reckoned with in the conference."
