Hauze Earns CCAC Attacker of the Week Honors
Chicago, IL – Calumet College of St. Joseph senior outside hitter Francis Hauze was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week when the awards were announced Tuesday morning. Hauze has now been recognized as the CCAC Attacker of the Week twice this season.
The Crimson Wave played three games last week, fell in a five-set to St. Ambrose and earned two conference wins over Trinity Christian and Viterbo, both ending in three sets. He recorded his highest attack percentage of the week, .542, against Trinity Christian on March 25. He ended that game with 15 kills and four digs.
Against St. Ambrose, Hauze put up a match-high 30 kills, along with seven digs and two aces. Despite the loss, the following day CCSJ handled Viterbo and Hauze had 15 kills again, along with five digs and a match-high seven aces. His attack percentage during this stretch never dropped below .407 and he had a total of 60 kills, which is at 5.45 kills per set.
Amongst everyone in the NAIA, Hauze is top-five in aces per set (.70) and he's second in kills per set (4.45) in 19 games played.
CCSJ (7-12, 5-5 CCAC) continues conference play with its senior night this week against Olivet Nazarene on Thursday, April 3, beginning at 7 pm in the Rittenmeyer Center.
