Staden Earns CCAC Softball Player of the Week Honors
Senior catcher/first baseman Adelina Staden received CCAC Softball Player of the Week honors for her performance this past week against Judson and Taylor University.
Chicago, IL – Calumet College of St. Joseph senior catcher/first baseman Adelina Staden was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Softball Player of the Week when the awards were announced Tuesday morning. Staden received this award along with Kiersten Manning from St. Francis, who was named CCAC Pitcher of the Week.
In a span of four games in three days, Staden went 9-for-13 at the plate, producing multiple hits per game with a batting average of .692. She recorded her first two home runs of the season in a pair of wins in CCSJ's home opener against Judson on March 26. In those two games, Staden also went 5-for-6 with a double and seven RBIs.
On the road against Taylor University, she went 4-for-7 with three runs scored and two RBIs. In the four game stretch, Staden had an on base percentage of .722.
CCSJ is off to a 2-0 start in conference play, while being 7-15 overall following its 2-2 week with two pairs of games this week. The Crimson Wave's next game following today's contest against IU South Bend, is against Saint Xavier on Saturday, April 5.
