Crimson Wave defeated by Trinity Christian
The Crimson Wave Women's Basketball team traveled to Trinity Christian College on Saturday for their third CCAC game of the season and were faced with a challenge playing the Trolls. The Crimson Wave were 0-2, and Trolls 6-1, heading into the Saturday game so the CCSJ defense knew they had to work hard to keep Trinity Christian's offense at bay.
The Trolls started off the game strong against the Crimson Wave, but CCSJ was able to stay within 10 points of the Trolls throughout the 1st Quarter. In the 2nd Quarter, Trinity Christian pulled ahead to increase their lead over CCSJ to 20 points, but the Crimson Wave didn't give up easily. In the 3rd Quarter, the Crimson Wave continued to keep up a tough defense against the Trolls and decreased their lead to 17 by the end of the quarter. In the 4th Quarter, Trinity Christian continued to pull away from the Crimson Wave, increasing their total lead to 32 points and wins over CCSJ 99-67. The Crimson Wave's 67 points were the most they had scored in a game thus far this season.
In total, the Crimson Wave shot 43% in Field Goal Percentage, 30% from the 3-point line, and 26.7% in their free throws. The leaders for CCSJ were Zariah Frierson with 27 points, Shakeana Clark with 15 rebounds, and Markeysha Coleman with 3 assists.
The Crimson Wave return to action on Wednesday, November 17th to host Cardinal Stritch at the Rittenmeyer Center at 5 PM.
