Wednesday, CCSJ traveled to Cardinal Stritch for their first game of the week. With only 5 players, the Crimson Wave knew they would be up for a tough fight, but did the best they could with little rest.
The Crimson Wave struggled to get going in the first half while Cardinal Stritch took off to lead 38-17 going into halftime. CCSJ came back into the 2nd half reenergized and aggressive, forcing turnovers and drawing fouls to create more scoring opportunities, but the Wolves still defeated the Crimson Wave 75-44.
Zariah Frierson led the Crimson Wave with 21 points, 6 steals, and 3 rebounds and Paris Butler had 12 points and 2 rebounds. The team shot 26.2% in Total Field Goals, 28.6% in 3-Pointers, 61.5% from the Free-Throw line and forced 20 turnovers, and drew 13 fouls.
The Crimson Wave competes next on Saturday, January 22nd as they host Trinity Christian College at 1 PM.
