Crimson Wave just short against Trolls in 80-66 loss

Saturday, the Crimson Wave played Trinity Christian College in what became a closely hard-fought game. CCSJ, again low on numbers, were on a 6 player rotation and the little bit of rest was just enough for the Crimson Wave to put up a good fight against the Trolls. In the first quarter, the Crimson Wave started off strong by putting up shots and drawing fouls early on, giving them the opportunity to score 16 points. In the 2nd quarter, Trinity Christian stopped CCSJ from getting too far ahead, keeping the Crimson Wave to only 7 points and securing their 42-23 lead going into halftime. After the break, the Crimson Wave started the 2nd half stronger, outscoring the Trolls in both the 3rd and 4th quarters, but still came up just short in the end with Trinity Christian taking the win 80-66.

Elizabeth Davis led the Crimson Wave scoring 20 points, going 8-9 from the free-throw line and had 6 rebounds. Paris Butler followed with 16 points, 3 steals, and 2 rebounds and Zariah Frierson had 11 points with 3 steals and 6 rebounds. The team shot 37.3% in Total Field Goals, 30% in 3-Pointers, and 65.4% from the Free Throw line.

The Crimson Wave are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to play Holy Cross College.
