Women’s Basketball falls to Lakers

Saturday, CCSJ Women's Basketball hosted the Roosevelt Lakers for their second meeting of the season. The Crimson Wave, still hungry for their first win, started the game strong, outscoring the Lakers in the 1st Quarter 22-18. In the 2nd Quarter, Roosevelt started hitting 3-pointers and kept control of the ball to outscore the Crimson Wave and lead going into halftime 42-36. The Crimson Wave started the 3rd Quarter strong, taking care of business and drawing more fouls to regain some lost ground to outscore the Lakers and bring the score closer to 66-62. In the 4th Quarter, Roosevelt continued their lead over CCSJ and held them till the end to win 84-73. 

Shakeana Clark led the Crimson Wave scoring 30 points with 5 assists and 13 rebounds. Zariah Frierson followed with 14 points, 2 assists, 1 block, and 5 rebounds and Markeysha Coleman had 10 points with 2 assists and 7 rebounds. The team shot 41.6% in Total Field Goals, 16.7% in 3-Pointers, and 53.5% from the Free-Throw line.
