Women’s Basketball falls to top-ranked St. Ambrose

Calumet College's Women's Basketball team traveled to St. Ambrose (RV) on Saturday for their 2nd CCAC match-up against the top conference team. The Crimson Wave were ready to take on the Fighting Bees after a close score of 60-44 in their last meeting. In the 1st Quarter, the Crimson Wave were held to only 8 points as the Fighting Bees took their lead, and in the 2nd Quarter, the Wave scored just 2 points as SAU increased their lead. After the halftime break, the Crimson Wave found their shots starting to sink in as well as drawing some fouls to get to the free-throw line. The 2nd half effort wasn't enough to overtake St. Ambrose and their 44 point lead as the Crimson Wave were defeated 83-49 by the Fighting Bees.

Shakeana Clark led the Crimson Wave scoring 18 points with 2 steals, 1 block, and 3 rebounds. Markeysha Coleman followed with 12 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds. The team shot 31.6% in Total Field-Goals and 50% from the Free-Throw line.
