Crimson Wave stumbles against Indiana South Bend, 102-40

South Bend, IN. – The Calumet College of St. Joseph women's basketball fell to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Indiana University South Bend 102-40 on Saturday, January 6. CCSJ gave up 100 points for the second time this season in the loss.

How It Happened

The Crimson Wave (1-11, 0-6 CCAC) were playing from behind the entire game as they were trailing 12-2 just three minutes into the contest.

CCSJ struggled immensely in the first quarter as they only made three field goals and had 10 turnovers.

Capitalizing on the opportunity, IU South Bend (14-0, 6-0) had a 20-point lead after the first quarter and a 32-point lead headed into halftime.

The Titans continued to play well in the second half and were able to put away the Wave and remain undefeated on the season.

In the loss, Calumet College shot 28 percent (14-of-51) from the field and 29 percent (6-for-21) from behind the arc.

Crimson Wave Leaders

Hailey Vanderhye led all CCSJ players with 12 points while Destiny Hughes added 11 points and four assists. Vanessa Howell chipped in with seven points and four rebounds.
