Trolls Topple Wave in Rainy CCAC Road Match
PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Calumet College of St. Joseph women's soccer team headed to Palos Heights to take on the Trolls of Trinity Christian College, one of two games left on the schedule for the 2017 season. After giving up nine goals in the previous match, the defense was unable to provide much support once again, falling to TCC 8-0 on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
Trinity Christian (14-2-0, 7-2-0 CCAC) was able to find the scoreboard just 26 seconds into the match, and would proceed to score four goals in each half. Six different Troll players found the back of the net, and five were credited with assists. In total TCC fired 25 shots on the afternoon, 21 being on goal. Jessica Bianchi and Jadyn Wilson led the attack for the Trolls, each scoring two goals in their shortened play time.
For the Crimson Wave (0-12-1, 0-10 CCAC), Jasmine Castillo (SO/Chicago, Ill.) played the entire game in net, stopping 13 of the 21 shots she faced. Fatima Garcia (SR/Cicero, Ill.) would register the lone CCSJ shot, which was stopped to TCC goalkeeper Lindsey Dykema.
The Crimson and Gray will now be off until Saturday, when they will wrap up the 2017 season against Holy Cross College. Kickoff in Notre Dame is scheduled for Noon. A full recap will be able to be found after the game right here on ccsjathletics.com.
