On Saturday evening, CCSJ Women's Soccer hosted IU-South Bend for their final home game of the season, but lost in overtime 2-1. The Crimson Wave offense took every chance they could to score, taking a total of 24 shots, but only securing one goal by Mackenzie Pickens assisted by Elisama Gurrola in the 1st half to tie the game. April Mendoza took 8 shots and Monica Clemente took 5 shots but both were unable to score. The CCSJ defense was strong, drawing 10 offsides calls against IU South Bend, but also defending the goal against IUSB's attacks, only allowing 10 shots and maintaing pocession for most of the match. Goalkeeper Marcia Keilman had 4 saves, but IU South Bend scored first during the overtime period to secure their win.
As the final home women's soccer game of the season, senior Monica Clemente was celebrated at half-time for her time at CCSJ. Monica has played in 20 games, Starting in 20 of them. She has scored 2 goals, dished out 3 assists, for a total of 7 points for her career.
