CCSJ Women’s Soccer signs Central Catholic’s Cortez

Whiting, IN – Calumet College of St. Joseph women's head soccer coach Cristian Garcia signed Stephany Cortez from Central Catholic High School for the 2024 season.

Cortez, a 5'1 center back, plans on majoring in Business and chose CCSJ because of her faith and education. Cortez is looking forward to "meeting new people and getting to know the community."

While at Central Catholic High School, Cortez was a Hoosier All-Conference player and was recognized as one of the best defensive players on the team. Outside of sports, Cortez was involved in the World Champions Club, the BC2M Program and the Champions Together Club.
