Wave Finish In Top 15 At Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic
ADDISON, Ill. – The Calumet College of St. Joseph women's bowling team took to the lanes for the second time in two weekends to participate in the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic in Addison, Ill. While the team slipped down the standings slightly on Sunday, they still finished a very respectable 14th in crowded Tier One field of 66 participants over the two-day event.
Lindsey Norton (SO/Highland, Ind.) led the way for the Crimson and Gray women on Saturday. Norton had a five game average of a 193.6 average, good for 30th in the individual portion of the tournament. While not placing as high, her teammates also put together respectable showings. Candice Tovo (SR/Valparaiso, Ind.) and Bri Ferro each finished their five games to a pace of over 187 average each, while Liana Motel (FR/Dyer, Ind.) came off the bench to contribute a 207.0 average over the three games she rolled in.
The Crimson Wave entered the final day starting off in 9th place, but dropped a few spots of the course of the Baker games on Sunday afternoon. The team finished in 14th place overall with 8,147 pins, just a couple hundred pins out of a top ten finish. The result is nothing to shake a stick at given the competition that showed up at Stardust Bowl.
The Lady Wave will now take the next month off before heading down to Indianapolis, Ind. for their next tournament action. The two-day Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic on February 17-18.
