Men’s Basketball defeats the Wolves in final minutes

The Calumet College Men's Basketball team started off the week with a CCAC match-up hosting Cardinal Stritch for their second meeting of the season. In the last match-up, the Crimson Wave were defeated by Cardinal Stritch 69-63, so the latest meeting had the Crimson Wave eager to get their win this game.

The Crimson Wave started off the game with a strong offense and aggressive defense to keep the Wolves off-balance, but fouls and 3-point shots put Cardinal Stritch ahead 34-31 going into the half. The lead didn't last long as the Crimson Wave were determined to finish the 2nd half stronger than the 1st and quickly took the lead over the Wolves after halftime. Cardinal Stritch and Calumet went back and forth with the lead, but in the final minutes, Levi Jackson and Lawrence Pointer both made 3-Pointers that put the Crimson Wave ahead of the Wolves enough to secure their 71-63 win.

Lawrence Pointer led the Crimson Wave scoring 18 points and Malik Miller scored 11 points with 4 assists, 2 steals, and 4 rebounds. The team shot 45.8% in Total Field Goals, 42.3% in Total 3-Pointers, and 60% from the Free-Throw line.

The Crimson Wave's next match-up is Saturday at Saint Xavier.
