Rasmus Westerlund earns spot on CCAC All-Freshman team

Chicago, IL – Calumet College of St. Joseph men's basketball player Rasmus Westerlund was named to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Freshman team, the conference announced Wednesday. As the post season awards were revealed, Westerlund was honored with one of the five spots available on the team. 

The freshman from Sundsvall, Sweden averaged 4.3 points in 24 games played, shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 32.6 percent from behind the arc and 81.8 percent from the free throw line. Westerlund had four games this season where he finished with double-digit points, including his 21-point performance against Holy Cross on February 3. He shot 8-of-11 from the field and made four 3-pointers off the bench as the game's leading scorer in the 86-69 win.
