Crimson Wave Men's Bowling with a turnaround performance

The first event of the Men's Bowling season was September 25th and 26th at the Golden Eagle Invite and Cherry Bowl. Joey Ocello finished 11th individually, averaging 210, while the team would compete and finish qualifying in second place out of 22 colleges. This event pitted the top 8 into a matchplay format where CCSJ would lose to Whitewater 2-1.

The next event was October 2nd and 3rd at the Midwest Collegiate Tier 1- AMF Bowlero. In this highly competitive Tier 1 event the CCSJ men were unable to place anyone above 66th place individually which led to one of their worst finishes in years. Ian Dobran placed 66th with a 194 average. The team and coaches came home searching for answers but willing to put in the work and come back ready to go in the next competition.

The final event of October was the Western Shootout, an event the CCSJ Men's Bowling team has historically done well in, but the CCSJ Men would again struggle in the individual portion of this event. Dylan Dobran placed 20th individually with a 196 average, in spite of the team's struggles they would still be in 4th out of 28 teams after day one. Day 2 was the 16 Team Baker Games and another slow start, and with Coach Kubacki away at CCSJ Graduate Mitch Katic's wedding, Coach Krucek went young and put in 3 freshman, one returning sophomore, and a young 3rd year player in.

With only 12 baker games left and behind by 363 pins Freshman Ian Dobran, Pat McLetchie, Jake Brett, Sophomore Joey Ocello, and Junior Stefano Cittadino would make CCSJ Men's Bowling History.  They averaged 227 as a team and would come back and win the event by 22 pins. CCSJ Men's Bowling beat the leading team, McKendree, by an average of 32 pins a game for the next 12 games. When Coach Krucek was asked how they did it, he said the team had discussed that they all needed to be more involved in helping the team whether they were in the lineup or not and they all had their roles making the shots or supporting with the tasks discussed and they really brought in.  To celebrate they went and Teepeed Coach Kubacki's House which he was more than happy to see because they did it together as a team!!
