Men’s Bowling finishes 9th at Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic

Addison, IL – After winter break and nearly three weeks without bowling for the Crimson Wave, the men's bowling team took the lanes for the first time in 2024 at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic on both Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, January 14.

Due to the weather over the weekend, the Crimson Wave didn't stop bowling until around 10:00 PM Saturday and began bowling Sunday around 9:00 AM. They were instructed to bowl four hours ahead of schedule Sunday to avoid the snowstorm.

CCSJ finished the weekend in 9th place after Saturday's five team games and Sunday's 20 Baker games. The total team score for Calumet College was 4854 and with the Baker score total at 3865, the overall total for the Crimson Wave at the tournament was 8719.

Freshman Mason Doan had the top finish for the Wave, finishing 18th out of 257 bowlers with a total of 1050 in five games for a tournament average of 210. Stefano Cittadino finished 21st with a total of 1043 in five games.

Nick Dudeck came in 112th with a score of 781 in four games while Connor Pula placed 125th with a total of 743 in four games played.

Alexander Linnenbrink posted a total of 508 in three games played, Patrick Mcletchie put up a score of 419 in two games and Nicholas Musilk bowled in one game and had a score of 164.

Juniors Joseph Ocello (ankle) and Ian Dobran (wrist) were not able to compete in the competition due to injuries.

"This weekend's competition is a tune up for the postseason, so we have to focus on the basics and get off to better starts," head coach Mike Kubacki said. "I'm hopeful that another week of practice is going to sharpen things up and we'll be more discipline going forward."

The Crimson Wave return to Addison on Saturday, January 20 for the Storm Baker Challenge.
