Crimson Wave Men’s Soccer Season Comes to an End

Crimson Wave Men's Soccer were defeated by Olivet Nazarene University 6-0 on Saturday, and have finished their 2021-22 season. The Crimson Wave were up against a tough opponent in ONU but the defense worked hard to keep the Tigers from controlling the ball, drawing multiple offsides calls and fouls. ONU only scored 6 goals, and goalkeeper Jose Molina had 7 saves on the day. Brenden Melvin and Grek Guzman were the only Crimson Wave players to take a shot, but were unable to secure a goal.

The Crimson Wave Men's Soccer program were 3-13 in the regular season and 1-12 in the CCAC, scoring a total 16 goals with 8 assists and the goalkeepers had a combined 136 saves. Tarrel Mcray led the team scoring 7 goals and Jose Molina had 113 saves. The Crimson Wave are also graduating three seniors, Brenden Melvin, Jose Pacheco, and Fernando Montez de Oca and thank them for all they've done for the team and wish them the best.

Coach Mrak said of the Men's Soccer season, "It seemed on the season we always had to deal with attrition in some form or another.  Whether it was Injuries, illnesses, or family tragedies, we rarely had our best 11 on the field, playing the same position from game to game. It made for a challenging season to compete. We have some very good players returning next year in the Program, and we plan to build on and improve what we started this Fall though the Off-Season, and with a few Key Recruits in the pipeline for year's campaign."
