Men’s Soccer kick-off season with 3-2 win over Grace Christian

East Chicago, IN - Calumet College Men's Soccer hosted their first regular season game of the year on Saturday, taking on the Grace Christian University Tigers. 

The Crimson Wave took the first half to find a rhythm, making 7 shots to the Tiger's 8. Grace Christian was the first to score in the second half at the 58th minute to lead 1-0. 

Quickly, CCSJ took control to even the score at the 60th minute as Moises Castillo passed to Sergio Reyes to score their first goal of the season.

At the 66th minute, the Crimson Wave took a 2-1 lead as Reyes scored an unassisted goal. 

As the game played on, the Wave had control until in the 82nd minute as Grace Christian tied the match 2-2 with a made penalty kick. 

In the 85th minute of the match, the Crimson Wave scored the winning goal after Reyes passed to Lander VandeVelde to win the game 3-2. 

The Crimson Wave are back in action on Tuesday, September 12th, hosting Andrews University at East Chicago Central H.S.
