Men's Track & Field finish 8th at CCAC Outdoor Championships

Joliet, IL - The Calumet College Women's Track & Field team competed at the CCAC Outdoors Championships on Friday and Saturday. Over the two days, seven athletes competed for the Crimson Wave 

Day 1 - Jordan Lewis and Cyrus Williams competed in the 200 Meters Dash on Friday. Lewis finished 20th with a time of 23.16 and Williams finished 22nd with a PR time of 23.53. 

Day 2 - The Crimson Wave had a full day of athletes competing. Cyrus Williams posted a PR in the 100M with a time of 11.61 but did not make it to the final race. Lewis placed 8th in the 400M with a PR time of 51.41, also posting the second-fastest time in program history. Isaac Sytsma placed 9th in the 800M with a time of 1:59.20, the second-fastest in program history. Hector Martinez placed 9th in the 5000M with a time of 15:55.10 and Adam Servin placed 18th with a time of 16:50.39. Antonio Kneeland placed 4th in the 400M Hurdles with a time of 58.27. As the only Crimson Wave athlete competing in the field events, Matt Mabry competed in the Shot Put and Hammer Throw. Mabry placed 16th in the Shot Put with a throw of 10.89m and 17th in the Hammer with 29.45m. 

Sytsma was the only Crimson Wave athlete to make the podium for the 1500M run with a time of 3:55.72, a PR, and a new school record time. 

The Crimson Wave placed 8th overall in the team standings.
