Men’s & Women’s Track & Field opens season at Windy City Invite

Chicago, IL - The Calumet College Men's Track team opened up the season at the Windy City Invitational hosted by Chicago State University. As the season begins, only a few athletes competed at the indoor meet but left their mark on the track.

Men's Results:

Junior, Adam Servin, ran the 3000 meters in 9:50.33, a 15th place finish, a new personal record, and moved up the ladder to an 8th-best program time.

Jarrod Benkovich, a Freshman, finished 2nd in the High Jump with a height of 1.95 meters.

Junior, Matt Mabry, threw 9.87 meters in the Shot Put for a 15th-place finish and 10.98 meters in the Weight Throw for a 9th-place finish. 

Women's Results:

Sophomore, Maya Butler, ran a personal record time of 9.06 in the 60 meters to move up to 10th in program history. Butler also ran a 31.23 in the 200 meters.

Zoie Ison, a Senior, finished 25th in the 200 meters with 27.76, the 3rd best time in program history. Ison then finished 12th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.74, the 2nd best time in program history. 

Seniors, Isabel Rocha and Ciera Lee, both competed in the 1-mile. Rocha finished 12th with a time of 6:13.22 and Lee finished 16th with a time of 6:41.15. 

The Crimson Wave look to build on their progress this Saturday at the UIndy Winter Break Meet in Indianapolis.
