Men's Volleyball drop 3 close sets to Judson

Thursday, the Calumet College Men's Volleyball team hosted their first home CCAC match of the season against top conference foe, Judson University. Going into the match, the Crimson Wave were 4-2 after a 3-0 Home win against Olivet College last Saturday, but Judson would prove to be a tough opponent for the Crimson Wave.

In the 1st set, the Crimson Wave had a slow start after a few early errors and couldn't quite catch up to the Eagles losing the set 25-18. The 2nd set was a thriller and the Crimson Wave took an early lead and then went back and forth with Judson until the end as the Wave lost 31-29. The 3rd set was no less exciting as the Crimson Wave were only a few points behind Judson throughout the match but with a big rally as Francis Hauze served, the Wave made their way to tie the Eagles 17-17. CCSJ continued to go point for point with Judson, but by the end, the Eagles got ahead and won the set 25-23.

The Crimson Wave were led by Pedro Castillo with 18 kills, 7 digs, and 9 assists and Francis Hauze followed with 9 kills, 3 service aces, and 4 digs. Also, notable performances were Gianluca Righetto with 5 kills, Steven Gutierrez with 5 blocks and 4 kills, and Jacob Moen with 26 assists.
