Crimson Wave Men’s Volleyball wins third straight with win over Trinity Christian

Palos Heights, IL – The Calumet College of St. Joseph men's volleyball team beat Trinity Christian 3-1 on Tuesday, March 5 at the DeVos Gymnasium. Not only was this the second time this season that the Wave won three straight matches, but it was also their second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win of the year. 

CCSJ dropped the first set, but bounced back winning three straight sets, including a 25-16 win in set four, the largest margin set win on the evening. In that fourth set, the Crimson Wave recorded a game-high hitting percentage of .652.

  • Junior outside hitter Francis Hauze had a match-high 22 kills, along with seven digs.
  • Freshman outside hitter Daniel Lopez recorded nine kills and 10 digs
  • Freshman outside hitter Diego Antunez also had nine kills
  • Junior outside hitter Pedro Castillo notched a match-high 43 assists, along with four digs
  • Sophomore middle blocker Gioele Iacono added seven kills in the win
  • Senior libero Gustavo Medina chipped in with 10 digs and two assists

The Crimson Wave will look to make it four straight wins as they take on Roosevelt on Thursday, March 7 at the Rittenmeyer Center. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM CT.
