AVE MARIA, Fla. – After narrowly escaping being on the wrong end of a no-hitter, the Calumet College of St. Joseph softball team rebounded in game two of the twin bill with Ave Maria University (Fla.) to keep things close. The Wave fell 10-0 in five innings in the opener, recording just one hit – a single from Amanda Sandilla (SR/Hobart, Ind.). Calumet battled back in the nightcap, falling 9-7. The Wave connected for nine hits in game two, with three players picking up two each – Marissa Kopp (JR/Henderson, Nev.), Kayla Kirmani (FR/Lowell, Ind.) and Cayla Rokosz (JR/Hebron, Ind.).
