Softball Ends Season in CCAC Tournament

CCSJ took a first round loss to Trinity Christian College, 3-2, after extending the game to 10 innings.    Sarah Kessler threw all 9 innings for CCSJ, tallying 9 strikeouts.  Brianne Kosina led the Crimson Wave with 3 hits and an RBI.

After the loss, the Crimson Wave dropped to the bottom side of the bracket, with a longer path back to the championship.   CCSJ took on Lincoln College on Friday morning taking a 4-3 win with Kenzie Lanman pitching the first five innings and Kessler taking over for the last two earning the win.  Lanman and Kessler combined for 8 strikeouts in the win.  The offense was spread throughout the lineup with Ryan Regnier, Kayla Kirmani, and Grace Elrod each had two hits while Kirmani and Elrod each added two RBI's.

CCSJ would turn around and play Trinity International University just minutes after their victor over Lincoln. The Crimson Wave would stay strong grabbing a 5-4 victory after posting all of their runs in the fifth inning. Kessler would again pitch all seven innings, earning the win.   Hannah Gentry led the way for the ladies with two hits.

The Crimson Wave's season would come to end shortly after the back-to-back wins as the ladies could not seem to string their offense together, falling to Roosevelt 4-0.

CCSJ would end the year 19-33 overall.
