Crimson Wave Sprint Football claims MSFL Regular Season Champions title with 31-28 win over Bellarmine

Whiting, IN - Saturday, the Calumet College Sprint Football team claimed the inaugural title of Midwest Sprint Football League Regular Season Champions after their 31-28 defeat of Bellarmine University. The Wave will host St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Saturday, November 5th in Whiting at 7 PM in the first-ever MSFL Championship playoff game. 

The Crimson Wave went into the game in the #1 spot of the MSFL standings, after their win over the previously undefeated St. Mary-of-the-Woods, but had to overcome a tough Bellarmine team to hold onto the #1 spot. CCSJ did just that, leading the Knights throughout the game and finishing with a victory of 31-28. 

Crimson Wave Leaders

Carson Crowe led the Wave in Passing with 132 yards, throwing for 1 touchdown. Jonathan Flemings led the Crimson Wave in Rushing with 126 yards and 1 touchdown. Nino Barbosa ended the game with 112 Receiving yards. Christian Price was 2/2 in PAT kicks and1/2 in Field Goal kicks and Jared Saez was 2/2 in PAT kicks. Isaac Hegwood finished the night with 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss of yards, 1 breakup, and 1 blocked punt. Quinadrius Davis had 9 tackles with 1 interception and 1 breakup.

The Crimson Wave will host the #2 seeded SMWC on Saturday, November 5th at Ray P. Gallivan Stadium in Whiting at 7 PM for the first-ever MSFL Championship game.
