Second half surge not enough for Wave to overcome Cougars
EAST CHICAGO, Ind. – Julia Mears (FR/Flint, Mich.) netted two goals in the second half, both off perfectly placed passes from Monica Clemente (FR/Rensselaer, Ind.), but it wasn't quite enough for the Calumet College of St. Joseph women's soccer team to pick up a win. The Wave spotted Saint Xavier University (Ill.) four goals in the opening half on Wednesday, Oct. 2 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action, but held them scoreless in the second half to fall 4-2.
