Women’s Volleyball kicks off the season with a 1-3 weekend at ONU Invite

Bourbonnais, IL - Calumet College Women's Volleyball kicked off the season with three matches at the Olivet Nazarene Invite. The Crimson Wave played three matches leading off against Columbia College (MO), Mount Marty University, and York College (NE). 

Match 1: #14 Columbia 3, CCSJ 0 ( 25-6, 25-7, 25-11)

The Crimson Wave had a slow start to their first match of the season, only landing 10 kills over three sets, but kept their errors low in the first two sets with 6 and 7 in the third set. Delia Macdonald led CCSJ with 3 kills in the first match of the season.

Match 2: Mount Marty 3, CCSJ 0 ( 25-14, 25-16, 25-11)

CCSJ increased their number of kills in the second match with 12, but also increased their errors to 24 over the three sets. Joharis Castillo led the Wave with 6 kills in the match.

Match 3: CCSJ 3, York 1 (25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20)

In the Wave's first 4-set match of the season, the Crimson Wave stepped up their game scoring 48 kills in the match, with a first-set high of 15 kills, and 25 errors. Marina Lopez led CCSJ with 18 kills and 7 service aces. Castillo had 12 kills, Ivana Quiñones had 34 assists, and Dianeyra Zapata Jimenez had 20 digs.
